Biography
Matt Blodgett, Principal, joined North Bridge Growth Equity in 2007. Previously he led growth equity investments in digital media and information technology companies at Alta Communications.
Matt develops investment partnerships with entrepreneurs and founders of rapidly growing technology and technology-enabled companies. His areas of special focus and interest include growth equity investments in industries such as industrial technology and services, semiconductors, clean technology, digital and mobile media, gaming, internet infrastructure, and software. He is actively involved with North Bridge's investments in Aeropost, BrightTALK, Leapfrog Online, Proto Labs and Spil Games.
Before joining North Bridge, Matt was a Vice President at Alta Communications, a communications and media-focused private equity firm where he invested growth equity and completed management-led buyouts in companies in the digital media and information technology industries. He has also been an investment banker with Bear Stearns in New York, advising domestic and international media and technology corporate clients on complex mergers, joint ventures, equity offerings and debt financings.
Matt is a graduate of Yale University, earning a BA in Economics and a BA in Political Science while playing center on the Varsity Football team. He is a proud Minnesota native, an avid outdoorsman and freshwater fisherman, and a student of ancient Greek and Roman history.
